Doug was raised in the midwest in the home of a Pastor.  His childhood was filled with church, sports and family time.  He was a fun loving kid that always looked for ways to make a game out of anything.

He played most sports and decided basketball was his favorite.  He continues to love sports to this day.

A move to Minneapolis between his junior and senior year in high school began a signficant change in his life.  He became acquainted with the Daystar Ministry which had a focus on Christian community and helping people overcome the problems of their past.  That developed into his joining that ministry, attending their training program, finding his sweet wife and setting a course for his life. 

Doug was married to his wife Joyce in December of 1969 in Minneapolis.  After a required time with the US Army (drafted), he joined the training program of the Daystar ministry.  He has pastored in Texas, Indiana and Oregon.  He became the director of the entire Daystar Christian Ministry in 1982.  Doug currently lives in Oregon and is on the Pastoral staff of Christ’s Center Church.  Doug and Joyce have three children that all live close to them in Oregon.  The oldest Danny is single and works as an accountant for a group of TV stations.  The oldest daughter Janell is married and works at the church where Doug is on staff.  The youngest, Carlie, is married and had Doug and Joyce’s first grandchild.  Jackson born Feb 2006.

Doug has been traveling and speaking since 1979.  He teaches at Youth With A Mission Bases, churches, marriages retreats, family summer camps, youth camps, Pastors conferences.  His topics of teaching include:
